Richard,
The safari we took with you a few weekends ago was fantastic.
I have been on
an Exmoor safari with another company a few years ago and I
can't believe the
difference between the two. I would recommend Discovery Safaris
every time
without fail.
The most impressive difference was clearly your enthusiasm
for the moors and
knowledge of the surrounding areas.
I take a few of my friends to stay at Dunster beach each year
and I have already
mentioned this trip to them so I'm sure I'll be seeing you
again in the future.

A
truly memorable trip with Richard in the Land Rover. We
went up old Coach Road routes, through woodland, open moor
and on the beach at Porlock Wier.
Richard
was a superb guide, very knowledgeable,
felt like you could conquer anything
with him in control!
He
says at one point “ there’s
a red deer great to see in the open
probably separated from the herd on
our left”
And
there they were , would not have seen
them if he hadn’t said, clear
as day after he pointed them out!
I
totally recommend it, brilliant.

Had
our third tour with you last Thursday and it was FABULOUS!
we almost cancelled due to the changeable October weather
and what a mistake that would have been!! The sighting
of the large herd of Red Deer was the highlight of our
week's holiday. Your tours are really great - informative,
fun, interesting, and as exhilerating as any theme park
ride - (and we have taken other tours by your competitors).
Your knowledge of the moor and its inhabitants is very
impressive and made the tour educational as well as fun.
I would certainly have absolutely no hesitation in recommending
you and the tours to anyone, please keep up the good work
and, to use a well known phrase or saying, "We'll
be back....."

Hello
Richard!
That was a fantastic safari from a man who loves the moors
indeed. We
would like to give this tip to people from the Netherlands
who will visit Exmoor
in future:
Mensen, voor een rondleiding over de moors door een gepassioneerde
begeleider, ga mee met discovery safaris of Porlock.
Uitvoerige uitleg over alles wat beweegt op de moors en zijn
bevolking,
spannende verhalen over vroegere tijden, prachtige vergezichten
met herten
en roofvogels. Echt de moeite waard.

Just
a quick email to say how much Anthony and I enjoyed the
safari on
Saturday morning. Your knowledge and enthusiasm about Exmoor
was
second to none. It was amazing to see the stag with his hinds,
the Exmoor
ponies and the Sparrowhawk. You took us to places which we
had never
seen – even after visiting and walking Exmoor for over
8 years. Your
commentary and stories about the folks of Exmoor was extremely
interesting, and your wit and sense of humour made our morning!
I have
recommended your safari to all who were staying with us. A
wonderful
birthday present!! We WILL definitely meet up with you again
for another
safari. Thank you once again.

Thanks
for a truly brilliant day. It may have been a bit wet
but I think it made
the day, and your knowledge of the local area was vast. I
come from
Somerset and you told me things about Exmoor I never knew.
I will tell all
my friends about you. Just because we live in the area we
can still learn lots
of things. Thanks again for a great day out and we will see
you again later in
the year. Great Driving!

Thanks
Richard for our "excellent adventure". We loved
every minute of it.
I learned more in two and a half hours than I had in the ten
years of visiting
Exmoor. Your sense of humour is great and we loved the way
you drove over the bumps and in the water. We are truly amazed
at the value for money, especially in these days of rip-off
Britain. This was the best tour I have ever been on (alongside
flying over The Grand Canyon in a helicopter). Look forward
to doing it again if we manage to get back to Exmoor. Would
drive from elsewhere if we don't.

Just
wanted to say what a great time we had. We are still reeling
off
information you fed us, and the kids have taken to doing their
own talks
when we are out and about. Their favourite saying (with hand
signals) is
"pushing on through". We were lucky to see more stags after leaving
you.
We couldn't believe our eyes. Have told many friends what a
brill time we
had with you. One of the best things about the experience was
there was
something for everyone whatever the age. We are now back in
FLAT Norfolk
and do miss the hills etc. Thanks for a great 2 1/2 hours.

Just
wanted to drop you a line to say how much we enjoyed
the safari on the 21st. Mick and I sat in the back of
the vehicle and loved it all. We learnt so much from
you about the local area, it was fascinating. It was
amazing to see those beautiful red deer. The off-roading
was so much fun! Right from the start you were friendly
and welcoming and you made the whole experience exciting,
especially the talk about the stags! I have been recommending
you to everyone who will listen. We look forward to booking
up with you again.....
in fact we may come just to see the bluebells. Thanks again
for a great time

Thanks
so much for a brilliant day on the Exmoor Safari on Thursday
30th July. Lainie and myself (Pete) and our good friends
Andy and Nic had a terrific day with you. Your enthusiasm,
humour and knowledge of Exmoor and all that it has to
offer made the experience one we will never forget. We
have some great photos to remember our day and feel sure
you will be seeing us again in the future.
I was particularly pleased to see the Red Deer and Exmoor
Ponies as I do quite a lot of wildlife photography.
Some of the information you gave regarding the Red Deer was
fascinating and new to me. Lainie and myself work in the
education unit at Shepreth Wildlife Park and your knowledge
of the deer and ponies in particular we will certainly add
to our education base

Hi
Richard
Taking the people I support, whom have profound learning disabilities,
this was a trip they absolutely loved and to looking at the
Exmoor horses with their foals so close up and the deer who
came close by.
This is a trip for everyone and anyone and something for everyone.
From my support team and myself thank you, we all enjoyed it.

Richard.
My wife, daughter and I have been on two safaris this year.
We love Porlock and Exmoor, but saw a completely different
side to it when we joined you for your Nutscale and Lorna
Doone safaris. I can’t think of a better way to spend
2 and half hours on Exmoor . We have been lucky enough
to see newly born Exmoor ponies, an Exmoor Stag, Big Bess
and scenery that was truly amazing. I have recommended
your unique and interesting safaris to family and friends
who have all enjoyed the trips they have taken. We are
back in Porlock this week and will definitely be booking
another safari with you. Thank you so much for the “roller
coaster” ride that is Discovery Safaris.

This
was our second trip with you richard, and on both occasions
was really fun. You seemed more like a mate than a guide.
Don't know if you will remember us there was me (joe)and
five kids. You picked us up from burrowhayes farm on Fri
25th August 07 and you had us in stitches with your enthusiastic
driving and commentary and "no word of a lie" tales. "PROPER" day
out. Hope to see you next year.
Cheers and thanks

We were part of the Williams family trip round Dunkery
a couple of days ago. Just to let you know we all had an
absolutely brilliant time. We have visited Porlock on several
occasions over the past 25 years and have done a fair bit
of walking around & about the Horner area but you showed
us places we had never seen or heard of so it really was
well worth it. The off- roading part was great fun - particularly
enjoyed by the younger members of the party. We were talking
about it for the rest of the day!
I
would recommend your tour to anyone
wanting to see the real beauty of
Exmoor – we saw so much wonderful
wildlife - birds, deer, woodland
and moor – just fantastic & the
highlight of our holiday

What
a great time Bob and I had yesterday. We saw a couple of
herds of red deer also two year old stags trying to get
near the hinds. Wild bees, blue horns, views wherever we
looked were amazing, the overroad driving excellent. An
experience never to be forgotten. Bob said it was his best
birthday present ever.
Thanks Richard, Well done.

I am writing to tell you how brilliant we all thought
your Safari was.
We all agreed your Safari was the highlight of our whole
holiday. The trip was tremendous value with a near 3 hour
tour. We had the priviledge of seeing wild red deer 3 times,
wild ponies, a sparrow hawk and buzzards. We also saw areas
of Exmoor that we would never have seen or known about, such
as the wild bees, and it made us really appreciate the beauty
of Exmoor.
You
were an excellent driver and the commentary you gave
was so full of passion and knowledge we shared your
love of Exmoor. We are planning our next trip and we
will definately be arranging another Safari with you
and will highly recommend you to anyone we know who
plans to visit Exmoor. Thanks once again for a memorable
afternoon.

Wow!
Fantastic! Great! What more can I say.
A truly exciting experience. The "off roading" was
brilliant! I never expected to see 3 herds of Red Deer at
different locations on one trip. Richard brought the whole
trip to life with his personal "wild life" experiences.
He is happy to share his vast local knowledge and is very
animated.
Thank you, I will be looking forward to the next time I come
to Somerset and will definately book another trip.

Hi
Richard,
We had a smashing time on the 1st June, had to get up early
for 9:30.
My favourite part of the day was your really cool off roading
and those really created stories that were so fascinating
and seeing the deer and ponies made my day!!!
